Well, it’s May 31st.  We were going to have a concert today, but we had to postpone because of the state of emergency.  
5月31日ですね。本来なら今日、コンサートをしているはずでしたが、緊急事態宣言により延期しなければなりませんでした。

So instead, I’m just at home.  
なので代わりに、お家で過ごしています。 

The tree is looking great!  It’s starting to grow more thickly this year.  
It might have been a Frankenstein-tree when I pruned it, but I think it looks nice now.
木が良い感じです！今年はいつもより生い茂っています。
刈った時はフランケンシュタインのようでしたが、今は良い感じになりました。 

And it has fruit!
実がなっています！ 

I don’t know what fruit that is.  It looks tasty, though.  Does anyone know what fruit it might be?
何の実かは分かりません。美味しそうですが。どなたか、何の実か分かりますか？ 

I don’t think I’ll eat it, just to be safe.  The birds really enjoy it, though.  Now I have birdsong every morning!
安全のため、食べないでおきます。鳥たちは大好きなようですが。毎朝鳥のさえずりが聞こえます！ 

My wilderness garden is also looking good.  
雑木庭も良い感じです。

I know you can’t tell, but I did a lot of weeding here.  I pulled out the weeds I didn’t like and kept the ones I did like.  
分からないでしょうが、草むしりをいっぱいしました。気に入らないものはむしり、気に入ったものは残しました。 

I think it looks pretty good!
なかなか良いですよね！ 

I also took the chance to change my office.  
仕事場の模様替えもしました。

It’s much tidier and neater than it used to be, and I can have all my windows open as well.  I added LED lights under the desk, which is where the purple glow comes from.  
以前よりずっときちんと整理整頓し、すべての窓を開けられるようになりました。デスクの下にLED照明を加え、紫色の光で照らされています。

This is the side wall of the office.  Those panels are for cutting sound reflections, making the space better to record in. 
仕事場の壁の一面です。このパネルは音の反響をカットするためのもので、レコーディングしやすい空間になりました。 

I have a picture drawn of jammin’ Zeb hanging next to the door.  
And speaking of hanging pictures, did you notice the small square one in the earlier picture?  
ドアのとなりには、jammin' Zebを描いた絵が掛けてあります。
掛けてある絵といえば、先ほどの写真に写っていた小さな四角い額縁に気づきましたか？ 

It’s actually a special gift I made for the band members.  We each have one, and it contains important words we must never forget, as members of jammin’ Zeb.  
実は僕がメンバー皆のために作ったプレゼントです。皆に１つずつ渡しました。そこには、jammin' Zebのメンバーとして決して忘れてはいけない言葉が書かれています。

Well, that’s my new room.  Sometimes when I’m sitting here, looking out at the road, I almost feel like the captain of a ship.  
というわけで、これが僕の新しい部屋です。時々、ここに座って外の道を眺めていると、船長になったように感じることさえあります。
But this is an odd time.  We were supposed to see you today, but we couldn’t.  I hope that we can see each other again soon.  
しかし今は非常時ですからね。本当は今日皆さんにお会いできるはずでしたが、それも叶いませんでした。早くお会いできることを願っています。

In the meantime, here’s a video I made a couple of days ago.  The song I’m singing is from an old children’s TV show, but it’s recently become an unexpected hit.  I think I understand why.  
そんな中、数日前にこんな動画を作りました。歌っている曲は昔の子供番組の曲ですが、最近思いがけず大ヒットした曲です。なんとなく理由がわかる気がします。
