東日本大震災から7年を迎えました。
この大震災により亡くなられた方々のご冥福を改めてお祈り申し上げます。
僕自身、日本でのオフシーズンは毎年被災地に足を運び、皆さんと触れ合う機会を設けています。
その中で、毎年の皆さんや街の変化を感じながら、今自分にできる事を考えて行動しています。
あの時、僕の家族も仙台で被災しましたが、当時お腹に居た次女も震災を理解できる年齢になりました。
先週自分の国のものを紹介するプロジェクトで、女川町の方に頂いた「大漁旗」を持参したそうです。
この震災の経験から、大変な時こそ誰かを思いやる心や亡くなられた方々の分まで自分達がやるべき事を子供達に語り継ぐ事も僕たちの役目だと思います。
3.11はそれぞれが大切な人達と共に大切な未来に向けての会話の機会を設けてくれたら嬉しいです。

It’s been 7 years since the Tohoku earthquake happened.
I would like to send prayers again for all the victims of the earthquake.
I’ve gone to the place where the earthquake hit every year and met the people who survived from the tragedy. In there, I always think about what I can do for them.
My family was in Tohoku when the earthquake happened and my second daughter who was in my wife’s tummy at that time is old enough to understand the earthquake disaster. As a classroom project that introduces your home country, she brought a big fishing flag to school which is from Onagawa town in Miyagi prefecture where the earthquake hit hard.
I think that it is our job to hand down to our children the importance of taking care of someone in a difficult time and do what you should do for the people who died by the disaster.
I hope that today people spend some time with their important people and talk about their precious future.
